The USNV-14 utilizes the
highest quality, newly manufactured Generation 2+ image intensifier tube
to provide
crisp clear images under the
darkest conditions.
Utilizing the most advanced Mil. Spec. housing, this system is built to handle
the toughest of environments. The "single tube / single eyepiece" approach
to night vision is based upon the proven concept that independent use of each
eye maximizes the ability of the user to operate under a wide range of low light
conditions. This tactic enhances the user‘s field of view and also allows
the user to retain full peripheral vision in the unaided eye. The unaided eye
now works in conjunction with the 40 degree field of view offered by the night
vision device.
The USNV-14 can be hand held, attached to a standard PVS-7/14 head-mount or
helmet mount and it can be installed on an optional dual-carriage head-mount,
providing a dual eye configuration like the AN/PVS-15. The USNV-14 is smaller
and lighter then the AN/PVS-14, weighing only 9.6 oz and is fully submersible
to a depth of 66 feet (20 Meters). The USNV-14 works with either a single AA
or 3 volt lithium battery, offering more flexibility and a longer battery life.
The integrated IR illuminator enhances the ability of the user to read maps
and operate in confined spaces. The USNV-14 is compatible with most all weapon
mounted IR laser aiming and illuminating devices. Optional Accessories Include:
High Magnification Mil-Spec Lenses, Dual Bridge Mount and Military Helmet Mounts.
